I try to keep myself in as best shape as possible. I'm working out 4 days a week, and that's just to literally be able to sustain longer sessions, and to know that my body can take the impact it's going to take.

Introducing the NBD Skate Performance program!

 

When I created the daily push I never thought I’d be creating something like this but I’m super hyped the path has lead to here. My view on skating and life is a holistic one and I believe to fully kill it skating and feel good for a long time we have to do more than just skate.

 

With that in mind I’ve put together a full multi-part program that at its core is designed for you to get the most out of skating, build up your resilience to skating so you can skate more, progress faster, and feel how you want on and off your board. As it's a totally customised program designed based on your unique needs, the specifics will change.

Unless you want it to be, this program isn’t about changing skating and turning you into a gym head; it’s about adding some intelligence to the way we do things as skaters and taking advantage of all the science and wisdom used by 99% of athletes. Trust me – I’m still a skate rat, but I just hit 30 years old and I’m skating more than ever now based on the things you’ll apply and learn in this program.

This program is totally personalised for you individually; for your skating, your skill level, your body, how you move, your life, and your timetable. It’s totally built around what you want and need.

To figure out all that we’ll start off with a chat about what you want to get out of the program, what you want to work on, what your goals are, how you want to improve your skating, etc. I’ll ask you some questions to get a better understanding of where you’re at and how I can help you.

We’ll then do some movement, performance & skate assessments (like how high you can pop, if that's something you want to work on) which will guide me on how to create the program and also be useful in the future to compare your progression throughout the program.

Ideally you'll be tracking different bits of info along the way and working directly with me throughout the whole program so we can make sure you're responding well and so we always know the best step to take next. The program will last 12 weeks (more info on that later) and it will be constantly evolving throughout.

custom workouts designed for you.

With this program you’re going to get personalised workouts designed for you – want to work on your pop? Endurance? Strength? You tell me and I’ll program it. You’ll have workouts to do throughout the whole month that will be updated and changed when they need to be – usually around every 4 weeks.

For the first two workouts of each 4 week cycle we’ll do them on a video call so I can help you get the hang of everything and to make sure you’re doing them right. After that you’ll get access to the workouts via an app where you’ll have video explanations for each exercise so you can make sure you’re always doing them on point.

 

By the way, don't think you'll just be left alone after those first two live workouts, but more info on that later. 

skate, lifestyle & recovery hacking.

So many skaters complain about aches and pains or that they just don’t feel how they want to feel. As a result they don’t skate as much as they want and progress slowly. This part of the program I think is where most people fall short.


If you want to skate more, start skating bigger gaps, have longer sessions, etc. this is where the skate hacking part of the program comes in. The custom workouts are a part of this, but by hacking and progressing things like the length of your sessions, the size of the gaps you skate, etc. you can speed up your progression and not feel absolutely destroyed after your sessions. If you struggle with fear and committing to tricks, this is the part of the program where we can work on that too. I’ll do the work for you here structuring these things based on your what you want so you’re constantly progressing.


Don't think that this will be a strict plan that will take all the fun out of your sessions either, it will be more like guidelines and hacks to make sure you're always heading towards your goals and recovering good. At the same time I get that a lot of people when they go skate just want to skate so at the end of the day it will be up to you how full on you want to go in on this part of the program.


On top of that we’ll work on any lifestyle related areas that might be blocking your progression and you’ll get personalised recovery hacks to make sure you’re recovering well between your sessions. You'll also receive a  bonus nutrition guide chucked into the program too.

Side note: I wasn't sure if help with tricks was something people would be hyped on but if it is, this is something we can work on as well.

accountability.

Sticking to this kind of stuff long-term is hard if you’re on your own but no worries! I’ll be there phoning you at 3am telling you to get the fuck up and do a work out! No not really, but I'll be there throughout the whole journey and we’ll lock in a 30 minute call every 2 weeks where we’ll go over any adjustments that need to be made based on what you’ve been tracking in the app, how you’re progressing, if you’re struggling with anything, etc. You can ask questions in this call or whenever you want through the app.

If you struggle to commit to things like this, don’t worry, I’ve got your back so don’t worry, you’ll finish the program!

extra info & how to sign up!

This is the first release of this full online style program and it’s currently in beta mode. That means I’m going to be figuring things out as we go – don’t worry I don’t mean things like exercises or the best way to train you – I mean things like program structure, what’s important and what’s not, what you like or don’t like and basically just how I can make the program even better the next time round; as I’d like to keep this going with more people.

 

So far I’m just planning on doing a feedback session at the end of each month and maybe some questionnaires on top of that.

If you choose to sign up you can cancel at any time but ideally, I want you to commit to this program for 3 months (12 weeks). That will give us enough time to really get you some solid improvements and it will give me enough time to really test out the whole program.

So, the big question! How much does it cost?

I haven’t decided on a price yet for the next release of the program but this beta version is going for a special price:

3 months for $360. You can pay either up front or $120 per month.

For my European brothers and sisters that's 300€ for 3 months or 100€ per month.
